Minutes
Minutes of the meeting held on 10 May 2022 were read and signed as true and correct.
National Trust
Ian Clemmett reported they have been busy and additional staff are being recruited. Bats in the tearoom, so currently shut. The new welcome hut has started to be built.
Wildflowers to be planted in the chains later in the year to promote colour and interest in the chains.
Ash dieback plans are in place and further work is required in the park.
C Sellers asked about car parking in Dovedale and if the NT Staff are directing cars to be parked to create more space for parking in Dovedale.
I Frith asked about manhours and the amount of rubbish that is Dovedale. I Clemmett reported 80 bags of rubbish have been collected recently which has impacted on manhours and is difficult to monitor what is happening in Dovedale.
G Forrester raised the issue with I Clemmett regarding the parking over at Orchard View Houses and the ongoing issue of increasing the drainage to help prevent water build up which causes flooding. Depending on the planning outcome and how this could affect the drainage to the other houses. I Clemmett and G Forrester to liase and copy in Clerk.
Improving Village Environment
There is still money in this year’s budget for flowers and bushes.
Vera, Carolyn & Richard to buy bulbs / plants.
Letters for the church path fund were sent out to every household to inform them about the church path and asking if parishioners would like to make donations if they would like to. Donations have been made and will update.
Thank you to C sellers and N Taylor for maintaining the plants and bushes over by the bridge and to R Wain for planting up the container by the notice board and A Pass for looking after it.
Highways
C Sellers has spoken with Cllr G Heath regarding the lines and speed restrictions, and this may take some time as work needs to be done first before implementing the lines & speed restrictions. The work may take some time but is on the list of works. We are having a 30-mph speed restriction and lines to Blore but waiting for funding.
Sign @ Lodge Lane reported on 22.5.22 and followed up. A Highways Officer has attended the location that you reported and completed a risk assessment. A works order has been raised and you should have now received an email explaining the priority of the works. Awaiting update. V Holland has contacted Cllr E Wain regarding this matter also.
I Frith expressed concerns about yellow lines as this pushes the parking further up the village and cars will just park in other areas.
Cars have been parking in gate on Lodge Lane. The area to be banked as we have done in previous areas in the village to prevent cars parking and blocking areas / roads.
NT to be contacted regarding trees blocking signs for visitors near the telephone box.
