Minutes
Minutes of the meeting held on 12 July 2022 were read and signed as true and correct.
Minute takers – V Nottage and C Hibbert-Foy
National Trust
I Clemmett-Lead Ranger, C Best -Central Manager for the Peak district and M Dillon -Property Manager from the National Trust joined the meeting to share about future and answered questions and concerns from the Parish Council.
Dovedale - concerns about Dovedale being promoted on Tik Tok, the volume of cars and litter and dog poo. C Hibbert -Foy to contact Environmental health regarding bins.
G Nottage suggested complaint be taken higher to MP / Landowners with regards to Dovedale
Parking suggestions of Weal Orchard being used for car parking on busy days and money from car parking could/should go to church path. still some complaints about parking but has improved.
Church Path – discussion with the people who own the church path / land on funds / fundraising for the church path.
The bridge / Rope bridge is being finalised This winter. improvement of foot paths and wheelchair friendly paths being funded by grants and NT, council has asked for plans of the bridge to be submitted. NT apologised for this taking a long time
Drainage from croft and fishpond – Drain in croft too small needs a bigger culvert. Clerk to send letter to highways.
Fishpond boundary to be checked by NT and K Warrington to investigate cleaning the fishpond but need permission from NT and council to ask for this.
Chains – R Wain complained about the grass and has now been mowed. idea of wildflowers for 2023.
Security at Dovedale – trialled 3 days a week in peak season as it acts as a deterrent and will assess for doing the same next year.
Trees felled with Ash Die Back in the car park. R Wain asked why one authority says you can plant sycamore trees, and another says no? no real answer given.
C Best is investing in a project manager to work in the property team and how that can improve the village and facilities in the area. They recognise the issues in the village and will have a dedicated person to work with so things will move at a faster pace.
Improving Village Environment
There is still money in this year’s budget for flowers and bushes.
Bulbs for spring: everyone to buy their own and bring receipts. V Nottage to investigate purchasing a sack of bulbs and R wain to investigate purchasing them from Lester Lowes.
C Sellers making signs to be put up for Church Path Fundraising and NT will assist.
Highways
C Sellers has spoken with Cllr G Heath regarding the lines and speed restrictions, and this may take some time as work needs to be done first before implementing the lines & speed restrictions. The work may take some time but is on the list of works. We are having a 30-mph speed restriction and lines to Blore but waiting for funding. Cllr G Heath to attend future meetings in the new year to discuss.
Sign @ Lodge Lane reported on 22.5.22 and followed up. A Highways Officer has attended the location that you reported and completed a risk assessment. A works order has been raised and you should have now received an email explaining the priority of the works. Awaiting update. V Holland has contacted Cllr E Wain regarding this matter also.
Cllr G Heath is contacting the lengths man scheme after Cllr E Wain had contacted her regarding this matter.
Lodge Lane drains are blocked and at the school to be reported to highways.
Finance
Balance in account: £1609.00p

K Warrington to price up 4 poppies and C sellers to look at silhouette.
Church path fundraising corporate letters will be sent out later in the month. Approx. £1000 in path fund.
Planning application at Church Lodge awaiting decision from The Peak Park and planning application for Castern Hall discussed.
All future meetings will start at 7 pm.
