ILAM PARISH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Minutes

          Minutes of the meeting held on 08 November  2023 were read and signed as true and correct.

National Trust

          More tree work is being completed at the end of the month .

          Th NT has employed an Accessibility Consultant who will be dealing with paths/ bridge as the work continues to make the paths/bridge accessible for wheelchair users and for all to enjoy Ilam .

          A new project manager , Liz Bowne has been appointed to develop visitor experience in ilam/ Dovedale .

          Wild flower project in the chains is ongoing .

          Staffordshire highways have been in touch with the NT regarding the issue logged regardinging the drains and has been marked as non urgent .

          NT Staff member has joined the Ilam Church and Community project .

          Mr Sellers has asked about the water in the croft and how it will be managed / removed before the car park is created at Home Farm . still awaiting planning decision .

Improving Village Environment

          Monument flowers :  After many years of looking after the flowers in the monument Mrs B Anderson will not continue this year . We are looking to see if anyone would like to volunteer to look after monument flowers for the village .  The Parish Council will provide money for the flowers .Please contact Caz or Lindsay if this is something you would be intersested in doing .

          Remembrance poppies, Beautiful handmade crochet poppies and RBLI Tommy soldier signswere displayed in the village and looked beautiful . Thank you to all who helped .

          We are looking into purchasing a seat for the village . C sellers and L Oulsnam to get some prices

 

Highways

          Sign @ Lodge Lane has been assessed and classed as non urgent work and will be replaced when resources become available

          CS and LO  logged blocked drains / potholes in the village & Damgate on highways website in Nov 2022  .all potholes reported and some have been mended and many have had worked raised stated by Highways  CS & LO  will send in further photos and log more of the potholes in the village .

          The school have sent an email to request if the yellow road markings outside school gates could be repainted and The chair of Governors hs requested a sign advising there is no parking on these lines outside school arrival and departure times. This has been emailed to Cllr G Heath and will be discussed at our next meeting .

Finance

          Balance in account: £1882.83p

          Precept for 2023/24 was discussed and £800.00p was decided . This is the same as last year .

AOB

          Planning application for Castern Hall has been granted

          Coronation to be discussed at the next meeting
