Minutes

·       Minutes of the meeting held on 12 September 2023 were read and signed as true and correct.

National Trust

Driveway to Church

•           Quotations for the work have been received and ongoing, with a view to work potentially starting in springtime.

Accessible Paths

·       Start on site dates will be partially determined by the contractors, but we hope to start on site in January of next year for approx. 10 weeks.

Hinckley Bridge

·       The planning application is still being processed by the Peak district National Park Planning.

Tree Removal

·       Tree removals in the churchyard awaiting PCC to submit application. Further meetings regarding this matter will be discussed between PCC and NT.

·       School Trees safety work /ash die back is now completed. Abby met with the headteacher to look at ideas from the children for future projects.

Dovedale & Village

·       Dovedale Toilets – The Peak Park are keen to have the NT maintain and look after the toilets. Investigations into how they need updating and maintaining ongoing. The NT are looking at how they can make the carpark flow better to be beneficial for the community, visitors and for all. And looking at improving payment for car parking. Security has been budgeted for next year.  ..

·       Storm Babet caused significant damage across the park to railings, footpaths, trees and stepping stones.

·       A new lead ranger has been recruited and starting in January.

·       Pumpkin trail was a great success and enjoyed by visitors and children.

Improving Village Environment

•           A Remembrance Bench has been purchased for the village. Thank you to Caz, Nigel, and Richard for installing the bench by the river. Weather permitting, we will have a Service of Remembrance by the bench, on Sunday 12 November 10.45am if wet we will meet at the church. 

•           Monument flowers have replaced with bulbs for the spring. Thank you to Richard & Joan for helping with the monument.

•           Thank you to everyone who has helped to keep the village looking so beautiful this summer.

Highways

•           We are still awaiting an update for yellow lines, white lines, drains and culvert cleaning that was requested to Cllr G Heath at the last meeting. C Sellers has contacted Cllr G heath regarding the yellow lines at School have been marked as work raised and they should be completed, weather depending by the end of the month.

•           C Sellers and Oulsnam to log more potholes and drains.

Finance

•           Balance in account: £1230.81p

·       Remembrance Poppies and Tommy Plaques have been displayed in the village, thank you to all who helped.

·       Planning applications discussed.

·       Defibrillator: The school have received a new defibrillator which will be discussed and update to follow.
