Minutes
Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 23 January 2024 were read and signed as true and correct.
National Trust
New accessible paths: Work is on track to finish on time, despite challenges with weather, with completion date of 22nd for construction, and then site being cleared the following week. Any changes to planned finish date will be communicated to PC and residents.
Resurfacing of driveway: Still scheduled to start on Monday 25th with completion date of 28th March.
Removal of Wellingtonia from church: Due to concerns from the PCC, a decision has been made not to pursue removal of the tree that is within the leased area of the churchyard. The large tree on NT land will be removed in the autumn.
Easter: Trail to start on Saturday 23rd March in line with start of Staffs school holidays and will run for 3 weeks. Due to ground conditions, Wheel Orchard will not be used for overflow parking, but we are confident we can manage visitor numbers in our main visitor car park. We will open as much of Dovedale overflow car park as possible bearing in mind ground conditions.
Planning application for natural play: An application for the addition of natural play components into the Oaks has been submitted to PDNPA. Info attached.
Hinckley Bridge replacement: We have had two contractors on site who are now pricing for the new bridge, a further update on progress will be given when available.
Dovedale and Ilam break ins: The toilet block at Dovedale has been broken into twice over the last couple of weeks, with the turnstiles and electrics being vandalised. There was also an attempted break in at Ilam – nothing was taken.
Outdoor Cinema Event – The event was discussed and awaiting outcome from licencing and further updates to follow.
