National Trust
Phase 2 of the accessible paths project at Ilam is complete and the paths are now open again – thanks for your patience whilst the work was carried out.
A further 5 parking spaces have been created at Home Farm, which will reduce the need for staff and volunteers to park in the village.
A planning application for the reinstatement of the fountain in the Italianate Garden will soon be going in. The plans are for a simple globe fountain, in the style of the historic fountain, making use of solar technology to power it.
Our Christmas launch weekend is 23rd / 24th November. Join us between 10am and 2pm for Christmas crafts and festive games, music and merriment. We’ll be running wreath making workshops over the weekend, and it’s the start of Christmas tree sales and our Winter Footprints trail. Christmas trees will be on sale every day from 23rd November between 10am and 2pm. Other Christmas events include Breakfast with Father Christmas, felt bauble making workshops and the Santa Paws Pooch Parade on Boxing Day.
C Sellers and N Taylor concerned about stone that has been laid on the drive from Home Farm as it blocks the drain when it rains which impacts the drain in the village.
C Sellers & M Davy from the Izaak Walton Hotel met with C Best & A Chillingworth from the National Trust to discuss issues in Dovedale.
I Frith expressed a need for clearer car parking signs in the village directing visitors to NT Car Park.
L Hayward reflected on what the National Trust has and does to support the village, as this question was asked - litter picking, wider landscape and keeping land in the area maintained, bench & Notice board, working with the village to resurface the drive, volunteering and job opportunities – local employment and using local suppliers for businesses.
