Minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 11 November 2024 were read and signed as true and correct.
National Trust
Thank you to the PC for your letter of support for the fountain planning application – still awaiting a decision from PDNPA
Moving forward with plans to install a gate at the entrance to Dovedale car park which would enable us to close it to visitors. Hoping to have this in place by the start of the busy period, logistics and planning allowing.
We will be running an outdoor theatre event again this summer - A Midsummer Night’s Dream on 4th July 2025 - 7pm.
Recruitment for seasonal Welcome and Service Assistants and Welcome Volunteers will start soon, ahead of Easter.
Secured funding through Arts Council England to deliver a community art project at Ilam. We will be working with Nottingham artist Bruce Asbestos and 3 local schools (including Ilam School) to create an installation to be displayed at Ilam from the start of the summer holidays.
K Warrington enquired when the snowman would be taken down in the chains and this will be passed on to the team who deal with the decorations.
Improving Village Environment
V Nottage has purchased Bulbs, and they have been planted round the village.
Thank you to The National Trust for the kind donation of the Christmas tree which was displayed in the church over Christmas.
Highways
C Sellers and L Oulsnam to send a letter to Highways about ongoing Highway issues in the village.
The white lines at the bottom of Hall Drive to be reported again and The National Trust will report also.
Finance
Balance in account: £1831.66p
The Parish Precept for 2025/26 was discussed and will remain at £800.00p as in previous years.
AOB
C Sellers reported 3 big trees are in the river by Coldwall Bridge which could block and cause flooding.
C Sellers & L Oulsnam to report.
C Sellers has asked if we can take pictures of any illegally parked vehicles and send to Parking@stoke.gov.uk where they will return an email and tell you what to do next.
Planning application NP/SM/1224/1365 was discussed .
